Survival was only the beginning. Discover a powerful story of resilience, self-discovery, and the courage to reclaim your life.
Natasha M Faulkner was born in Ardmore, Oklahoma, in 1976. Her life has been shaped by difficult beginnings, complex family relationships, motherhood, loss, hard work, education, creativity, and a persistent desire to understand both herself and the world around her.
Long before becoming an author, Natasha learned to depend on resilience. Circumstances demanded independence early, but they also developed the determination that would follow her into adulthood.
She graduated from Ardmore High School in 1994, attended Murray State College, and later earned her degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in 2007. Her education became one part of a much larger lifelong pursuit of knowledge, understanding, and truth.
Natasha is also deeply creative. Music, art, reading, painting, drawing, and sketching have given her different ways to think, feel, and express what ordinary conversation sometimes cannot hold. She plays guitar and drums and remains an avid reader who believes growth does not stop when formal education ends.
Family remains central to her life. She is a mother of three and a devoted grandmother, carrying into those relationships many of the lessons earned through her own difficult experiences.
After retiring in 2022, Natasha entered a quieter season of reflection. With more space to look back, she began giving language to experiences she had carried for decades. That process ultimately became You Are Okay.
Her purpose as an author is not to ask readers for sympathy. It is to tell the truth as she understands and remembers it, while creating space for other people to examine their own lives without shame.
Natasha believes people can survive painful chapters without allowing those chapters to become their entire identity. Her writing speaks especially to anyone who has felt unheard, misunderstood, dismissed, or uncertain about where they belong.
She has walked through darkness. What interests her now is the light a person can choose after it.
